The team members.
The members of the group synthesize, characterise and test new organic materials in solar cells, and thermoelectric devices. Our research aims to understand the structure-properties relationships of these new materials, to implement them in devices, to improve their efficiency and to assess their robustness over time.
The talented team
Dr. Cyril Aumaître
Yann received a bachelor's degree in chemistry and in physical chemistry from the university of Brest. After working for 5 years in a laboratory of the Grenoble Alpes University (UGA) on materials for OLEDs, he joined CEA in 2005. He works now on the different projects developed in the team. He is specialized in the synthesis of pi-conjugated molecules and polymers. Yann is also the local contact in charge of the safety aspects in the STEP laboratory.
Master II student
l am a soon to be graduated student from the Engineering School in Chemistry and Physics at Bordeaux (ENSCBP), with a specialization in Nano and Micro Technology. I am doing my master thesis from March to September 2022 under the supervision of Dr. R. Demadrille on the integration of photochromic dyes in dye-sensitized solar cells and the optimization of their photovoltaic and optical performances.
Valid Mwatati Mwalukuku
I come from Kenya, after graduating from university Grenoble Alpes, I started a PhD under the supervision of R. Demadrille. The goal is to understand the functioning of a new class of dye solar cells developed within the ERC-PISCO project. A deep understanding of the working principles of these photochromic cells through characterization allows designing new and more efficient molecules. My work is also focused on the optimization of the fabrication process of these solar cells.
José María Andrés Castán
I come from Spain, where I obtained my Bachelor and Masters degrees. I then worked in the private company Nanoimmunotech S.L., aiming at synthesizing and functionalizing gold nanoparticles, and in the University of Zaragoza as a researcher on DSSCs. Afterwards, I developed my PhD thesis on organic solar cells in the University of Angers. Since I joined this team, my research is focused on photochromic dye-sensitized solar cells in the framework of the ERC-Pisco project.
After a Master 2 "Polymers for Advanced Technologies" at University Grenoble Alpes. I started a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Sébastien Rolere at LITEN and Dr. Renaud Demadrille. The goal of my thesis is to develop new non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPU)
